Role Overview:
The Dispatcher plays a vital role in the smooth operation of MTS’s transit systems. You will be responsible for coordinating drivers, optimizing routes, and maintaining clear communication between the team and customers. As the central hub for daily operations, you’ll ensure reliable, efficient, and high-quality service for our clients and passengers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and Assign Routes: Coordinate driver schedules and route assignments to meet daily service demands.
- Monitor Operations: Track vehicle locations using dispatch software, responding to delays, emergencies, or service changes in real time.
- Driver Communication: Maintain consistent communication with drivers to provide updates, address issues, and ensure smooth operations.
- Customer Support: Handle incoming inquiries, provide accurate information, and resolve service-related concerns.
- Route Optimization: Utilize dispatch tools to create efficient, cost-effective routes that meet client and passenger needs.
- Record Maintenance: Keep accurate records of schedules, dispatch activities, and service incidents for reporting and analysis.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience: Prior experience in dispatch, logistics, or transportation operations is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in dispatch software, GPS tracking systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to manage multiple conversations simultaneously.
- Organizational Skills: Strong ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-Solving: Quick thinker with a proactive approach to resolving operational challenges.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with local geography and roadways is an asset.
