Scheduler

Role Overview:

The Scheduler is responsible for creating and managing transit schedules that balance operational efficiency and excellent service delivery. Working closely with drivers, dispatchers, and management, you will ensure the seamless allocation of resources to meet community and client needs. This role is key to ensuring MTS provides reliable, on-time transportation services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and Manage Schedules: Develop daily, weekly, and monthly schedules for drivers and vehicles based on service demands and operational requirements.
  • Optimize Resource Allocation: Ensure efficient use of fleet and personnel to minimize downtime and improve service reliability.
  • Monitor Service Levels: Adjust schedules in response to changes, such as driver availability, service demands, or unexpected disruptions.
  • Collaborate with Dispatchers and Drivers: Work closely with the operations team to ensure schedules are communicated clearly and executed effectively.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Track and document schedules, changes, and service logs for reporting and analysis.
  • Plan for Peak Periods: Prepare schedules to accommodate peak service hours, special events, and other high-demand scenarios.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience: Prior experience in scheduling, transportation, or logistics is an asset.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze service needs and create efficient schedules.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with scheduling software, GPS systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication Skills: Clear and professional communication with team members and stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly adjust schedules and resolve issues as they arise.
